CITY OF LETHBRIDGE ENVIRONMENTAL INCENTIVE PROGRAM

The City of Lethbridge continues to demonstrate their commitment to water saving efforts with the return of the Environmental Incentive Program in 2026. Included in the program is a rebate on rain barrels, which will help reduce consumptive water use from outdoor taps on city resident’s yards and gardens. Both in-yard and on-farm water saving practices add up and play an important role in overall water conservation. Thank you City of Lethbridge – every drop counts!

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS IN AGRICULTURE

Farming is one of the most demanding jobs in Canada, and mental health professionals in Alberta are making the effort to ensure Albertan farmers have the supports they may need.

Recent studies show mental health in the agriculture sector to be declining, with farmers reporting high levels of anxiety, stress, and depression. AgKnow: the Alberta Farm Mental Health Network is working to change the landscape of farm mental health in Alberta by providing resources that link farmers to mental health professionals. This includes partnering with Counselling Alberta to provide farm-informed counselling, which acknowledges the unique challenges farmers face and connects farmers to counsellors that understand life on the farm.
