IN REMEMBRANCE OF RICK ROSS

It is with great sadness that the family of Rick Ross, former LNID General Manager, announces his passing on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at the age of 82 years.

Rick was the LNID General Manager from 1972-1996, playing a pivotal role in guiding the organization's growth, strengthening its foundation, and helping establish the stability that continues to support our work today. His leadership and dedication left a lasting mark on LNID and the industry as a whole. The LNID is grateful for his enduring contributions and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working with him.

He is survived by his loving wife Joyce, along with his children: Jodi & Dinesh, Ray, Rich & Holly, and Chris & Jenn. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Liam, Hudson, and Keegan; and two brothers, Don, and Colin; and brother-in-law Bill.

Rick will be fondly remembered for his wisdom, vibrance, and his generosity. He lived his life with utmost integrity and inspired all to do the same.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, with details to follow.

2025 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING MATERIALS

Presentation materials and meeting Minutes from the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) are now available on the LNID website for those who were unable to be in attendance, or those who wish to review the information shared. The minutes have been reviewed by the Board and will be presented for approval at the AGM next year.

FLOOD & DROUGHT ON SMALL FARMS SURVEY – UNIVERSITY OF CALGARY

Researchers from the University of Calgary are looking for Alberta farmers to complete a brief survey on Flood and Drought on Small Farms in Alberta.

The survey can be found here.

The goal of this study is to give Albertan farmers an opportunity to share how they are protecting against flood and drought. The results of the study will help Alberta small farms through times of flood and drought as well as build supports and representation for these farms.

The University of Calgary Conjoint Faculties Research Ethics Board has approved this research (REB26-0383). The survey is completely optional, and you may exit the survey at any time and previous answers will not be submitted. Participation is completely voluntary and confidential.

WATER ORDERS

Reminder: a minimum 24-hour advance notice is required for both turning water on and turning water off. LNID requests water orders for the next day be received the day before by 3:00PM.

Contact your Water Coordinator by text message, email, or phone call to place your water order with the following information:

• Your name;

• Legal Land Description;

• on/off date;

• Preferred method of return communication (text/email/phone).

Your Water Coordinator will respond confirming they have received your water order. Water orders are incomplete until confirmation is received.
